
(1) Physical performance
PP spunbond nonwoven fabric is a non-toxic and odorless milky white highly crystalline polymer, which is currently one of the lightest varieties among many plastics. It is particularly stable to water, with a water absorption rate of only 0.01% after 14 hours in water. The molecular weight is between 80000 and 150000, with good formability. However, due to the high shrinkage rate, the original wall products are prone to indentation, and the surface color of the products is good and easy to color.
(2) Mechanical properties
PP spunbond nonwoven fabric has high cleanliness and regular structure, thus possessing excellent mechanical properties. Its strength, hardness, and elasticity are all higher than high-density PE. The outstanding feature is strong resistance to bending fatigue, with a dry friction coefficient similar to nylon, but not as good as nylon under oil lubrication.
(3) Thermal performance
PP spunbond nonwoven fabric has good heat resistance, with a melting point of 164-170 ℃. The product can be disinfected and sterilized at temperatures above 100 ℃. Under no external force, it does not deform at 150 ℃. The embrittlement temperature is -35 ℃, and embrittlement occurs below -35 ℃. Its heat resistance is not as good as PE.
(4) Chemical stability
PP spunbond nonwoven fabric has good chemical stability. In addition to being corroded by acids, it is relatively stable to various other chemical reagents. However, low molecular weight fatty hydrocarbons, aromatic hydrocarbons, etc. can soften and swell PP nonwoven fabric, and the chemical stability increases with the increase of cleanliness.
(5) Electrical performance
The high-frequency insulation performance of PP spunbond nonwoven fabric is excellent. Due to its almost no water absorption, the insulation performance is not affected by humidity, and it has a high dielectric constant. With the increase of temperature, it can be used to make heated electrical insulation products, and the breakdown voltage is also high. It is suitable for use as electrical components, etc. Good resistance to voltage and arc, but high static electricity and easy aging when in contact with copper.
(6) Weather resistance
PP spunbond nonwoven fabric is highly sensitive to ultraviolet radiation. Adding zinc oxide thiopropionate dilaurate and carbon black like milky white fillers can improve its aging resistance.
